Announcement – The last donation of 2014 is a very special one from The Butterfly Circle of Friends!

On Sunday, December 28th, 2014 “CC” (Christianna Capra, SRoL cofounder) received a personal visit at the farm from Ida and Pedro Gonzalez. The Butterfly Circle of Friends is a non-profit organization formed by the Gonzalez family of Spotswood, New Jersey, to honor their son, Spc. Michael L. Gonzalez, killed in combat in Baghdad, Iraq on August 28, 2008. Pictured here is the appropriation letter and a check for $5,000.00 dedicated to Veterans PTSD programming at Spring Reins of Life.

We are so honored and grateful to receive this funding from such a special place. We plan to create a placard to display in our lounge to let veterans know that Spc Michael L. Gonzalez (US Army) is part of their finding peace with the horses. SRoL Veterans Advisory Board Director Jeffrey Vollmar (USMC) would like to plan a ceremony on August 28th, 2015 to honor Michael L. Gonzalez at Foxx Creek Farm (to include the horses). We will keep you posted.

Your immense loss can never be retrieved, however you all create such beauty and hope for those still with us and suffering the effects of war. We commend you for creating such a profound legacy in honor of your beloved son.
